Barn Repair in March

I found this in my March file--so keep in mind that this was the weird non-winter we were having in the early parts of March.  Lots of sun, 80 degrees.

This is one of the oldest barns in the area and one of the longest.

There is another barn INSIDE if this one dating back to 1660.

This barn looks like The Ark.  Its huge.

Ability to be able to balance on a rotten roof and climb many ladders steps is a good skill to have in rural America.

The cows now have a water proof barn again.

Old Barn, New Paint

I love it when I drive by an old barn that was looking poorly a few months ago and now looks great.

It is amazing how a few basic repairs and a good paint job can greatly improve the appearance of a historical barn.

Some additional work is needed to fix a few other blemishes on the front.

The windows have been restored and cleaned.

The little milk room on the side of the barn would make a great chicken coop.

All the doors have been completely rebuilt and are working properly.

This old barn that was close to being torn down and its 250 year old timbers sold, is now looking younger and ready for business.

Barn Love.

This barn is getting lifted up and a new foundation is being put on underneath it.

I will return to take more photos of this barn as it is lovingly restored for practical use on this farm.
