Other than it is sponsored by a chemical corp and when I read about higher yields I think of Monsanto, I think this video is a bit of an eye opener for the "average" consumer.

Looks like I have some looking around to do here , great site so far.I found you from CCC's blog
ReplyDeleteFirst thing struck me was they mention only 3 commodities, mono culture. No mention of nutrient density.
ReplyDeleteLots of mention of what can be squeezed out of the nearly dead soil, but no mention of what can be done to revive it and make it nutrient dense.
And the fact that so few produce food for so many. What about food terrorism? Would not take much to knock that kingpin down.
But the point of thanking farmers, at least ones who are true stewards of the soils, is a good one.
But it's a generic thank you, not one encouraging people to know who their farmer is and what their practices are.
Be responsible for knowing exactly where your food comes from and how it is grown. Meet your farmer to thank him.
