Gray Barn, Gray Day

In the rain I discovered this old gray barn somewhere in Norwich Vermont.

There are no livestock or poultry in this barn.

Trees have been blown down by storms and knocked out wood, roof and windows.

The slats on one side of the once magnificent cupola are broken and missing.

Giving it an erie look.

Yet, the other side looks in better shape.

The weathered boards add charater to this old barn.

Many birds and bats are using this barn as home.

Vines will use the structure to climb up the sides and bloom in the summer, adding some color to the barn.

Hopefully someone will do some repairs and bring the barn into a usable state.

I would love to have a barn like this.

  1. I was looking for images of a tall, gray barn (to resemble one I dreamed about). What a strikingly beautiful structure! Thank you for taking the time to post these pics.
