Good Luck Corn Bread

I took a chance today and made my favorite corn bread recipe.

It came out better than usual: no smoke alarms went off and I did not start a kitchen fire

Ate several of them, shared them with friends and they were delicious!

Didn't have any Black Eyed peas to eat with em.  The corn biscuits was filling enough.

So bring on 2012!

  1. They look yummy! We had pork roast with sauerkraut, black eyed peas, and corn muffins. Here in Illinois we always ate cabbage on new years day, but I lived in Texas for 30 plus years and everyone down there eats black eyed peas. Since I want to make sure I hit it right, we always serve both. ;) Happy New Year.

  2. We love cornbread! And it's interesting that you mentioned black eyed peas...just yesterday I heard for the first time how they're supposed to be "good luck" if you eat them on New Years Day! We had bratwurst and sauerkraut instead, the tradition around here.

  3. I have been following your blog for a few months and am loving seeing where you live and the places you visit. Here in PA Dutch Country we eat sauerkraut to bring in the New Year...are black eyed peas and corn muffins a tradition for you?
