7 miles from my house there is a small field that supports a young group of Ayrshires for a few months of the year.
Last week I was happy to see them eating the tall grass.
Of course I had to pull over and chat with them.
I make no bones about it, I LOVE RED cows!
Got a favorite breed or color ?
Have a Moooovelous Monday!!!

Oh I love RED - Ayrshires yes I have a weakness for Red cows too:) and I would have stopped to have a chat also:)Great shots they are so pretty. B
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cows!
ReplyDeletei love the oreo cows.
ReplyDeleteLove your blog. Guess I've always been a want-to-be farmer, but living in the suburbs of NJ doesn't help. Send me a picture of your favorite cow (picture needs to have good light source) and I'll paint it for you.
ReplyDeleteHmm..I don't think I know enough about breeds or colors of cows! I'm glad you stopped to chat with them.
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up to Ladies Only Blog Share!
Visiting from the Ladies Only Blog Share! There is something about cows that I enjoy watching too...they have such expressive eyes.
ReplyDeleteLove those red & cream cows. Each one's coat is a work of art. I used to favor classic black & white cows, but I have been swayed by your photos to have a new appreciation for the reds.
ReplyDeleteThey have such cute faces, especially in the last photo where all 3 are looking very interested in what you are doing. The way they are arranged in the last photo has wonderful balanced with the 2 end cows facing in opposite directions & the center cow facing forward. it makes for great composition.
I think the middle cow with the ears raised looks a bit silly as it inspects you. I never thought I would consider cows as being beautiful, but these reds are definitely special.
we have red Brafords, and big brown eyed Jerseys, but I love all cows, they have such gentle faces....
ReplyDeleteI like cows in general but I'm very partial to Jerseys and Scottish Highlands. I also enjoy watching a pasture of Herefords and I do like Devons and Dexters.
ReplyDeleteI know absolutely nothing about cows, but they have an interesting coat. I love cats!
ReplyDeleteGreat post! I'm following your link from A Humble Bumble blog hop.
ReplyDeleteWe have a small beef farm in MO, I blog about it at enloefarms.blgospot.com. We raise Angus and Charolaise...I love the long-legged Charolaise. :)
Thanks for the pics.
They are beautiful. I had no idea how many different types of cows there were until I worked for a large agricultural fair in our area for several years. My favorite thing to watch was the cow showings (okay that and the littlest 4-h'ers showing their goats).
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing on A Humble Bumble's Healthy Tuesdays Blog Hop, I hope you will join us again next week!
